These terms are the agreement between you and Fika. Please read them: by creating an account or using Fika you agree to them.
1.What Fika is
Fika helps you organize an event: you keep your guest list, send each guest an invitation on WhatsApp or by SMS, record pledges and payments, and remind guests about their pledges.
The person who creates an event is its organizer. These terms apply to organizers and to anyone who visits Fika.
2.Your account
You need an account to organize an event. Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
3.Your guests and your messages
You add your guests' names and phone numbers yourself. By adding them you confirm that you are allowed to contact these people about your event.
Invitations and reminders are sent in your name, to people you invited. You may not use Fika to send advertising, unwanted messages, or anything unlawful, threatening or misleading.
You are responsible for the details of your event and for what your messages say.
4.Sends and payments
Sending invitations and pledge reminders is paid for in sends, which you buy with mobile money. The price is shown before you pay.
One invitation send gives one WhatsApp card and one SMS for that event. Sending to the same guest again uses another send. Messages that fail are not charged.
The card design of an event is chosen with its first payment and cannot be changed afterwards.
Sends that have been used cannot be refunded. If a payment went wrong, for example you were charged and no sends were added, contact us and we will look into it.
5.Pledges and contributions
Fika records the pledges and payments you enter. The money itself goes from your guests straight to the mobile money numbers or bank accounts you give them. Fika does not receive, hold or pass on that money, and is not a party to it.
6.Delivery of messages
Messages travel over WhatsApp and the mobile networks, which Fika does not control. We show you which messages were sent and which failed, but we cannot promise that every message reaches its guest or is read.
7.Card designs and the Fika name
The card designs, the Fika name and logo, and the website belong to Fika. You may use the designs for your own events on Fika. You may not copy, resell or reuse them elsewhere.
8.Ending or suspending an account
You may stop using Fika at any time and delete your events. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other people, or is used for fraud.
9.Our responsibility
We work to keep Fika available and correct, but it is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, Fika is not liable for indirect losses, such as a missed guest, a late message or an event that did not go as planned.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Fika after a change, you accept the new terms.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
